Four Design-Build Teams Will Compete to Build the Glendora to Montclair Project

The Construction Authority completed a major milestone this month when the agency’s Board of Directors approved the shortlist of teams to compete to build the $1.5 billion, six-station Foothill Gold Line from Glendora to Montclair.

The four shortlisted teams were narrowed down from a field of seven that responded to the agency’s Request for Qualifications (RFQ). After review by four evaluation committees on the following criteria - related project experience, staffing and organization, legal qualifications, and financial qualifications – six of the seven teams were deemed qualified and the most qualified were recommended for the shortlist:

• AECOM | Stacy and Witbeck JV
• Herzog Rados Lane, a Joint Venture
• Kiewit-Parsons, a Joint Venture
• San Gabriel Valley Transit Partners (STP), a Joint Venture of Fluor and Ames

Board approval of the above shortlist concludes the first of two competitive steps in the procurement process to hire the design-build team for this project. Release of the Request for Proposals (RFP) is the second, and will occur in late-May. Only those teams shortlisted will receive the RFP and be competing to win the work. The contract award is anticipated in October.

CicLAvia means rediscovering your town, close up – San Gabriel Valley Tribune

The automobile acts like a blindfold, keeping us from seeing our towns, our neighbors, ourselves.

To open our eyes to what’s in front of us, we need to take off the blindfold. We need to remove the cars.

That’s what an open streets event, or CicLAvia, does. And fortunately, there’s one coming soon near you on April 22, Earth Day, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., along a 6.5-mile stretch connecting San Dimas, La Verne, Pomona and Claremont.

If you haven’t seen our stories on “CicLAvia Heart of the Foothills,” go back and read them. You can also visit the group’s home page ( and click on the event, even RSVP.

Then, mark your calendar. Next, go into your garage and dust off that rusted, cruiser and bring it to your nearby bike shop for a tune-up. You’ll be set to ride, free to feel the wind in your face or stop at whatever catches your eye on a day like no other.
